ON TO THE MEME
. So, you can read! Congrats!
Are you reading a book right now? How far are you into it and what do you think so far? If you're not, what was the last book you read and how did you feel about it?
Well, I'm reading two books right now. Was reading four >.> I just finished up Inkspell (Cornelia Funke), and Prizoner of Azkaban (JK Rowling), but my friend has my cop of Goblet of Fire, so I can't read that right now. I'm kind of reading Wicked (Greagory Mcguire), but mostly I'm reading Fellowship Of The Ring (JRR Tolkien, duh.). I reaaallly like it so far, aside from the fact that I just got past a very, very boring bump in the book. But now it's picking up again. Am I the only one who thinks that Sam is totally gay for Frodo?
. Do you have a favorite book? Do you have... a book you really liked, at least?
Hard to choose XD Um, I rather enjoy Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince (Rowling), Howl's Moving Castle (Dianna Wynn Jones), and Ella Enchanted (Gail Carson Levine). All great reads.
. What would you say is your favorite genre to read? What to tend to steer away from?
Definately fantasy. I know I should braoden my horizions, but whatever. I love fantasy <3 Though I do read a bit of Sci-Fi, too. Like the Uglies books (Scott Westerfeld) And I've read a couple of Michael Crichton books that I really liked. Jurassic Park, ftw. I can read thoes over and over again <3
. Do you read more fiction or non-fiction/information books?
No.
. How about a favorite author, or perhaps a few?
I do have a few. JK Rowling, she is my god. Dianna Wynn Jones, you've probably never heard of her, so go read her stuff. Gail Carson Levene was my favorite when I was a kid <3 Holly Black is pretty awesome too. And I am slowly but surely growing on to Tolkein. But let's finish LOTR first.
. Have you read any terrible books? Something you'd recommend staying away from?
Twatlight. Srsly.
. Do you reread books, or is once enough? Any exceptions so far?
Constantly. That's why I buy all my books.
. What were some of your favorite books as a child?
Harry Potter, for sure. Anything by Gail Carson Levine. Ella Enchanted, Two Princesses of Bamore, the Princess Tales...loved them. I also really liked the Enchanted Forest Chronicles, and Rold Dahl books.
. Do you usually pick books from the kids, teen, young adult, or adult books? How old are you, if you don't mind?
Kids and Young Adult.
. Do you buy books much or mostly just borrow?
I buy them all. I don't really like to borrow stuff, if I can help it.
. Have you read any books after seeing them in movie form? Which did you enjoy more?
Yeah, a lot. Howl's Moving Castle, both are amazing. Narnia, which, despite what everyone says, I love hte movies as well.
. What about reading the book before there was a movie? How did you feel about the movie? Did you even bother seeing it?
Depends, really. I love the Harry Potter movies, but both Eragon and Inkheart made me want to punch a baby.
. Do you read any other forms of literature aside from novels? Such as graphic novels, comics, (fan fiction???) etc.?
I used to read a lot of manga, but not much of it anymore. I like American comics quite a bit, though I haven't followed anything for a while. I was following Fables, and I need to pick it up again. Bigby = <3+
. What is a book you want to read, but haven't yet? What intrigues you about it?
The Wicked books. I just read like, the first chapter of Wicked. My brother was telling me about their amazingness, and I need to get on that after LOTR. Also, I need to re-read Looking Glass Wars so I can pick up Seeing Redd, and then the third one which just came out
. If you could rewrite the end of one book (or any other part, I suppose), which would you choose? If you were satisfied with every book you read's end, yay.
EFFING INKSPELL. THE ENDING OF THAT WAS BULL D<
Everybody dies except for Dustfinger and Farid (And maybe Darius and Eleanor) and then they have steamy (LOL IM FUNNY) hot buttsecks. For all of Inkdeath. Let's hope that's how the series ends.
If you can think of one, name a book that made you:
- cry: A lot of books have XD But I remember Deathly Hallows had me sobbing (forest scene
- laugh: Vamped (David Sosnowski), the Harry Potter books never fail to make me giggle. It's hard to write comedy.
- think, in a deeper sense than the obvious: Eeee. The Giver (Lowis Lowry), for sure. Uglies (Westerfeld) does that a bit to me too.
- feel pure happiness: Harry Potter <3
- become so addicted you put off everything in order to finish it: Any Harry Potter one. Deathly Hallows particularly. I was like "Venice? What? Eff that. Harry Potter just came out."
- die of boredom: Well, I just got through and incredibly boring part in Fellowship of hte Ring >.>
- learn something new: Michael Crichton's books make me feel smart.
- squirm with squickiness: Ugh, Breaking Dawn (Meyer).
- squirm with glee: HARRY POTTER
- very embarrassed to be reading it: Twilight, I think.
- angry: Order of the Phoenix. Umbridge made me so flippin angry while I was reading that. UGH. And Inkspell. Fuck Roxanne in the ass. I hate her. Slut,
